New table

This morning we went out to get Mason a new table and chairs set at Toys R Us. When you lift up the top it becomes a lego table. He loves it. We went to the dollar store afterwards. We let Mason walk around the store rather than put him in a controlled cart to see how he would do. Well, we were there about 20 min. and he did great! He listened to us when we asked him to put something back and to follow us around and not wander. I was so proud of him. While we were at the dollar store, Daddy couldn't resist picking up a stuffed shark toy for Molli which she went nuts for and promptly chewed it apart. Later when Daddy wasn't looking, Mason hopped on the couch and played with Daddy's laptop and game control.

Big Squeeze

We went over to Nikki and Rob's for dinner tonight (it was fantastic!) and Mason had a great time playing with Tahlia and Greysen. It was so nice to see Cindy and Matt too. It has been way too long. At the end of the night Tahlia was so sweet and gave Mason a big hug. :)

Yummy!

Mason said the word "Yummy" when he ate his yogurt today. Adding more to his vocabulary every single day. I can hardly keep up now!

Later for dinner Teresa, Jason, and Morgan came over for dinner. It was so nice to see them. It's been a long time and the kids grow up way too fast!

Back on track

Well, this is the first weekend in a long time that Mason has taken a nap both Sat. and Sun. I'm one happy Mommy!

Today Mason stepped on our new scale. I guess he likes it when it lights up. To him it's a game, but to me it's great because now I can see how much he weighs whenever I want. He weighed in today at 25.4 lbs. He also said choo choo when he was playing with his train. This kid knows more than I think. He had a great nap and then broke my sunglasses. What an eventful day! :)

Many new things Monday

This morning on our car ride to daycare Mason kept saying "Ah-gee" and I kept trying to figure out what he was saying. He said it over and over the whole way and pointing at something. Not sure what that is yet, but I'll figure it out. He also said "thank you" after I handed him a cracker. He has been saying "peez" for a couple weeks now. Tonight Mason ate all of his dinner which was two crackers, two chicken nuggets, and two potato smileys. I turned around and next thing I knew it was gone! I think he likes eating dinner better while watching TV in the living room. Who doesn't? After dinner he was getting loud so I said "shhhh" and put my finger up to my mouth motioning to him. Then he did it too! What a cutie! Also added to the dessert menu for Mason these days are brownies and the newest is ice cream sandwiches!

Expanding our palette

My little man has added a couple new things to his menu. He now enjoys breakfast sausage. I made some eggs for him this morning, but he passed it up for some sausage. Later, for dinner we made corn, mashed potatoes, and breaded cod. Mason passed up the corn (which was no surprise) and the mashed potatoes for the cod. I was shocked. He'd eaten fish sticks before, but if they are shaped differently, he usually doesn't eat it.

Good Mood Saturday

Mason started of the day very well. He is in a great mood. This morning I went to the gym and when I came in the door he ran over and said hi daddy. Glad he was excited to see me, but wrong parent. Hmmmm, we are still trying to work on the word mommy. He'll get it. We decided to take a family trip to Target to grab a few things on Mommy's list. In the store Mason said firetruck and he's been saying car very clearly. He also says no when he doesn't want something which is nice because now we know for sure what his intentions are. He's getting so independent. On our way back we stopped at McDonald's for Mason since it was lunchtime and because we still felt jipped from our last time we stopped there on the way to the beach and they forgot his drink and nuggets. This time we got the original kid's meal with the old style box - celebrating 30 years of happiness! Mason also got a Lego racer for the toy, much better than the stuffed Ronald McDonald toy.
Here he is enjoying his happy meal.
No nap for Mason today. I think he just knows that it is Saturday and refuses to nap. Every weekend he naps on Sunday, but not Saturday. Even with no nap he did very well and maintained a good mood playing all day. Oh, and eating all day! He was a little piggy today. Later in the afternoon I said we need to change your diaper and he went over to grab the wipes and he laid down. Before dinner we went out in the backyard while Daddy mowed the lawn. Mason helped with his bubble mower. Afterwards, we went to Glory Days for dinner. We figured, why not? He's been really good this entire day without a nap. So, we took a chance. He was fine as long as he watched SpongeBob on the TV. :)
Screaming match with Daddy.
Taking another snack break to see what's going on outside.
Here he is my little wild man.
Mason and Daddy built this and this photo was taken just moments before it fell over.
Brushing his teeth before bedtime. What a great day!

Messy Snack

So honeycombs has been a popular snack this week except today the whole box was dumped on the floor. I turned my back for one second and Mason and Molli are eating off the floor!

Bethany Beach Vacation

I know it's been awhile since my last post, but that's because we took a family vacation to Bethany Beach, DE! I'll definitely make up for the lack of pictures last week now. On Thursday morning we packed up our stuff in the truck and we were off to the beach, but not before dropping Molli off at the Pet Hotel! We stopped at McDonald's next door to grab lunch before we left. Mason got a Happy Meal which consisted of small fries and two toys. They forgot to give us the chicken nuggets and drink. Nice! Mason did very well in the car for 3 1/2 hours thanks to the portable DVD player and movies (Cars and Blues Clues) that my friend Stacy let me borrow. It was a lifesaver! It was a rainy day on Thursday so when we arrived at the condo we just brought our things in and relaxed trying to figure out what we were going to eat for dinner with the Panczyszyn's. Before that the kids had a snack first. We decided to go to Armand's Pizzeria in the little shopping center right next to us. That afternoon, Mason said a few new words very clearly 1) apple 2) Uppie and 3) snackie. Over the course of the previous week he was saying "me a me a me a me a" and making motions with his hands.....that of course in toddler speak means "give me more" :) He loves to open and close doors and now while we were at the beach, he started closing the door and then knocking with his little closed fist. So cute!

On Friday morning we all woke up and decided to hit the beach early before it got too hot. The weather was just absolutely perfect for our trip. Couldn't ask for much more in August. Before we left though, Ben wasn't feeling too good. It passed after a short while and we were out the door by 9am. We had a great time at the beach. Mason was afraid of the water (not to mention it was cold for him, but fine for us) but loved playing in the sand. After a couple of hours, we went back to the shopping center and had lunch at Big Peaches Bar & Grill. Mason learned to drink of out a cup with a bendy straw so he didn't tip the cup over. After awhile he just took the straw out and drank through the straw hole. I guess he thought it was much easier. Not really because it spills out all over him. But, he was happy so we let him do it. We went back to the condo since it was close to nap time for Mason, however, he did not take a nap today. Nope, no nap! He was a bit cranky and tired that afternoon. We all got ready and left the condo at 5pm to take our family pics on the beach before heading to Blue Coast for a nice dinner. By then Mason was not in a good mood. He ate mashed potatoes for dinner and seemed a little better. The no nap was getting to him at this point. On our way out back to the car Mason was running in the parking lot and before I could even grab him, he fell flat on his face and hit the gravel and scraped his forehead and cut his nose. Walking is not in Mason's vocabulary. Ben picked him and we dusted him off and after a few minutes he was fine. We stopped for ice cream at the coffee shop. Ben gave Mason a bite of his cookies and cream, he tasted it...spit it on the floor, then decided he actually liked it so he bent down to pick it back up and put it in his mouth. He did that before I had a chance to stop him. The kid has a great immune system. LOL! Then he wanted to run in the sprinklers and at this point we let him to keep him in a good mood. Uh, did I mention that of course he fell on the ground a couple of times while running through the sprinklers? Yes, he must love pain. Well, one time was because a little girl ran into him and knocked him down. The other time he just tripped like normal. I thought about getting the kid harness at this point because I can't stand to see him fall and hurt himself anymore. After all of this, I was ready to relax and go to bed. We all needed a good rest so we can hit the beach again.

Saturday turned out to be another beautiful beach day. Mason was still a little cranky this morning and wasn't as interested in playing on the beach as he did on Friday. We stayed for a couple of hours then went back to the condo. Mason did take a good nap that day and when the kids woke up we got ready and headed to the outlets for a little shopping. However, before the nap, Mason was running around crazy like he usually does and fell and slammed his forehead on the bottom of the couch and it left an imprint on his forehead. After about an hour, we had some dinner at Friday's then hit the other side of the outlets after. We headed home around 7pm, and got the kids ready for bed. After they went to bed, Michele and I walked up to the shopping center for some coffee then we went to Candy Kitchen for a snack. Since it was our last night here, I decided to go to the local pizza shop Grotto's for a slice of their famous pizza. It was yummy and a nice way to end the trip. All in all, it was a good trip and I am glad Mason enjoyed the beach. Back to reality! At least we have the pics to remember the trip.

Most recently since today, Mason has been saying "please" and when I say "arm's up" he puts his arms up. So, he has been listening to Mommy! :)

Mason was throwing his toy seal in the water.

This is for Grandma.
Mason loved chasing the seagulls.
Sand diving.

There was a playground on the beach and he wanted to swing.

Dusting off the sand on his feet.

Doesn't he look cool?

Testing the water.

Sandy baby feet.
