Buddies

Here is Mason and Logan just hanging out in the front yard. Mason is learning from Logan how to sit up. He still needs a bit of help, but he's getting there. :) Aren't they cute?!!!!

Friday Night Outing

Tonight we were out at the wing place in Reston and here is a pic of us hanging out after dinner. From the left: little guy, Owen, Xavier, and Logan. As you can see, it is very difficult to get everyone facing the same direction at the same time. :)

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend was very busy for the Scott Family. We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful weather as well as doing lots of yard work. We removed a bush, put up new shutters, cut the grass, and planted 3 new bushes in the front of the house.
Here I am using a small chainsaw type tool to remove this bush. It took about 10 minutes. We removed all of the remaining roots and then put grass seed there. Slowly but surely we are making home improvements. I've become such a domesticated woman.

After the yard work and the many trips to Lowe's, Target, and Costco this weekend, we decided to enjoy the evening on Sunday and had a little picnic in our front yard. Ben grilled some hamburgers. Mason enjoyed hanging out with one of his favorite furry friends, Molli. She was busy eating sticks, chasing her ball all day, and occassionally walking by Mason and giving him a lick or two. We also bought Molli some rocket balloons (she goes nuts over balloons!) and she was chasing them until they deflated.
Here is Mason soaking up the last of the sun that evening while reading his little book. I wish we always had 3 day weekends to enjoy! Back to the grind.

Farmer's Market - Mini me

Here we are at the Farmer's Market in Lake Anne Shopping Center. I decided to take a our self portrait while we were sitting by the lake watching the geese swim around. The weather was great on Saturday.

While we were watching the geese and soaking up the sun Mason decided to take a quick nap.

4 Month Check Up!

On Friday Mason had his 4 month check up and all is well. He now weighs 14 lbs 6 oz and is 25 1/2 inches long. He likes his doctor, however, he wasn't too pleased when they gave him shots again. He toughed it out like a little man.

4 Months Old!

Mason turned four months old today. I can't believe how fast it has gone by. He has already done such amazing things with his development. That is the best part of watching him grow. He is so alert and smiles at us when we look and talk to him. He grabs and holds on to toys, he is drooling a lot, and he is starting to talk - baby talk of course - but it is in response to when we talk to him. He is a little sponge just taking it all in. He can sit up (with a little help) pretty well, he started eating stage 1 baby food, and he loves to try and stand up. I can't wait to see what he does next month although he is so cute sometimes I don't want him to change! The best part is when he looks at me and has a big smile on his face. I know right then that he feels safe and that we will always make him feel better. He loves his mommy and daddy. It doesn't get any better than this folks! :)

Carrots

So, tonight for dinner we tried smooshed organic carrots for Mason. Well, of course I took pictures of it because it was the messiest dinner time to date. He wasn't really too keen on carrots, but he still smiled from time to time. I think he likes it when it gets all over his face. Well, after a few minutes of this, he opted for the bottle instead. Can't go wrong with milk. Uh, he doesn't look like he wants to share either.

Game On!

Well, Mason may have taken up a new hobby, thanks Dad!!! Even though it's Mother's Day, I allowed daddy to get some time in on the XBOX. What a nice wife I am! I'm still not so sure it's a good idea for Mason to get started on this little hobby of daddy's.

Here is Mason examining the XBOX controller. I think he wants to eat it. Nevertheless, he is still enjoying his time with daddy. The last picture I just happen to catch when he was taking his finger out of his mouth. It looks like he is drunk! Drunk on milk!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Today was my first Mother's Day and it was great. The day started off with a cup of my favorite coffee from Starbucks, courtesy of my wonderful husband, and a beautiful card. Then we got ready and went out to Panera for breakfast and hit Target on the way home. Afterwards, we went to my favorite place, the mall, and did a little shopping and grabbed some lunch at Gordon Biersch Brewery. It was nice spending time with my boys. I'm already looking forward to next year!

Sunny Days

Well, we were pleasantly surprised when the sun came out today. After we fed Mason his organic smooshed peas (first time for peas) for dinner, he wanted to go outside and lounge in the sun with his shades. Of course Mommy was right there ready to snap away. I just can't help it, I mean look at that face!!!!!! It screams, "I'm ready for my close up!"

Happy Guy

Well, it's almost bedtime, but I needed a little tummy time in the gym this evening. As you can see I am loving it. I'm also sharing it with my buddy Biscuit. He's warming up to me finally.

Dinner time!

As you can tell I am very excited (and hungry - hand in mouth!) because I'm about to eat my favorite baby food.....sweet potatoes! Yum! And that pretty much wiped me out. Off to bed.

Top off the evening....

with a bath and gym time! Check me out in my bathrobe. :) My mom and dad thought of putting the pillow behind me in the gym so I can sit up and reach my toys better. It will also help me get strong enough to sit up on my own. What a great idea!
