Daddy's visit: together again

After about 5 weeks away, Daddy came back to town to help get the house organized and help pack up in anticipation of our big move to Austin, TX at the end of March. Mason was excited to see him after he got over his initial shock. We went out to dinner after picking him up from daycare. By dinnertime he was very comfortable and back to his old self with Daddy. He had the best time playing with Daddy. Soon we'll all be together again.

Happy Valentine's Day

He couldn't wait to open it so he tried to take a bite out of the box.

Mason got me this lovely box of chocolate that we shared. We got Mason a cute Diego Valentine's day card. I got lots of hugs and kisses and returned the favor. That's all I need. :) Later in the week we celebrated V-day at dinner with Daddy.

Family Visit

This weekend Grandma and Aunt Renee came to visit and they stayed with us. We were very happy to see them and Mason had a great time.

Pringles

Mason's new favorite snack is sour cream and onion Pringles! He is addicted to them! He started watching the Nick Jr. show Olivia. I love the way he pronounces Olivia. My little guy is growing before my eyes. I have to buy him size 6 diapers now. The size 5 ones are getting a little snug. Oh, and he doesn't eat the calcium chews any more. What am I going to do with this kid??? :) When will he drink milk??

Snow Blizzard Loses

Friday the snow storm of the decade started and the after math is almost 3 ft of snow! I shoveled the 8 inches that we had on Friday night, but when I woke up the next morning it seemed like no work had been done. So the clean up begins...

Mason was such a good little helper on Saturday. I had to shovel a pathway or else the snow was up to his neck. He still had a lot of fun.

YAY! Success. Cleaned off the rest of the driveway, the truck, and we're ready to roll. Except we still won't be going anywhere since the roads are still not that great. But, I'm ready to go when they are cleared.

Big Boo Boo

I put Mason down for his nap today and I went downstairs and was working on my computer when 10 minutes into it I heard the thump. The dreaded thump that I knew would happen one day, but my heart was still in my throat, not expecting it. I didn't hear any crying. I ran upstairs and opened the bedroom door and saw Mason standing outside of his crib and when he saw me he cried. I think he was very scared and just stood in shock. I ran over and grabbed him and checked every inch of him to make sure there were no injuries. I saw a rug burn like mark on top of his left eye on his forehead by the hairline. It went away in a matter of an hour. I held him and he fell asleep in my arms. I was worried he had a concussion so I called the Dr. immediately and she told me to wake him up and check for certain signs. I did and he was fine. He didn't go back to sleep and was running all over the house just like usual. I wish I knew what made that horrible noise and how he fell, but perhaps it was better that I didn't witness it otherwise I would be playing it over and over in my head. We will put him in a toddler bed soon. For now I am just waiting for him to go to sleep before I leave the room.

Later he was watching TV and starting singing "rain, rain, go away..." So cute!
