This week's update

Last week Mason learned to say Poose and has just been quite the chatterbox lately. He loves to have conversations even if we are not in the same room. Sometimes he gets up in your face using his hands with something very intense to say and then he walks away. I wonder what he is saying. He's getting some more teeth I think now too. He's been grabbing at his mouth again, runny nose, and felt warm. On spring break I bought him big boy shoes (with a sole) and he has been walking (and running) in them very well. He tries to sing the alphabet song with me in the car on the way to daycare every morning. Oh, have I mentioned that he does not like sitting down for more than 10 seconds! He wants to get up and run all the time. Lots of enery! Mason has learned that if you stack two pillows together you can use that as a ladder on to the couch. Very smart he is! Lately, he's been choosy with which cup he wants his drink from. Not sure how he determines that now, but he only wants a certain sippy cup. That's my guy! Well, and today he has graduated to size 5 diapers. They grow so fast! More in store for Mason in the near future. He does something new everyday, it's hard for me to keep up!

Reston Petting Zoo

We visited the Reston Zoo today with Em and Aunt Michele. It was a handful by myself, that's for sure. My toddler running all over the place doesn't really work well when you are trying to keep track of the stroller and take pics all while watching where your kid is going! He had a little bit of a meltdown when I tried to put him back in the stroller.....go figure! Mason got to see a turtle, monkey, ducks, birds, and lots and lots of sheep! Here are some pics of the trip.

Events of the evening

Daddy and Mason were wrestling around, laughing, and having fun tonight after his bath as usual! While Mason was getting dressed he was holding his teddy bear (who of course is named "Teddy") and said "Teddy" very clearly! I can add that to the list of vocabulary words he already knows and uses on a daily basis.

Here is the list. And he understands so much more!
-Go
-Hello
-Bye Bye
-Dada
-nana (for Banana)
-ma ma (on occassion)
-nite nite (which also means he gets his paci)
-and now Teddy!

Sweet bear always keeping watch.

This is Mason throwing a little tantrum.
Giving Teddy a hug.

Hmmm, it's time for Teddy to go to bed. Mason is done playing with him.
Teddy gets thrown back in.
Teddy is waiting for Mason to come to bed.

Check up time again!

Today is Mason's 15 month birthday and to celebrate, we went to the Dr. and he got two more shots! Chicken Pox, measles, mumps, and rubella. I'll make it up to him. Even with all of that, he was fine the rest of the day and the Dr. said he is developing "beautifully!"

Here are the 15 month stats:

Weight: 22.8 lbs
Height: 31 1/2 "
HC: 18 1/2

Mommy's Birthday

Today I turned 31! It's amazing how times flies by you every year after 21! Now I feel like I still have so much to do before I turn 40. Turning 30 wasn't scary, but 31......now I am not ready for that. I had a nice relaxing day today and then we went out to Uncle Julio's (formerlay called Rio Grande) for dinner and I had the best fajitas! I did not get carded though. BOO! We took dessert to go. Tomorrow is back to work and the regular routine.
Mommy & Mason after dinner. He even gave me a nice sticky kiss. He was eating a sopapilla sans honey though. Kisses all around!

Finally... a nice Spring Day!

On the 7th while playing with Mason I noticed a new tooth (his 7th - finally!) in the back of his mouth. Looks like a molar. All this week for Spring break vacation he was unusually cranky and now I know why! Poor little guy. He has also learned a new word this week....."Go!" When we were going up the stairs on the evening of the 7th as well, he was crawling up and I said go Mason and he repeated it back to me with clarity. And he knows what it means because he tells Molli to go all the time now especially when he has food in his hand. :) To top it off, he just learned (Sat. night - 11th) to turn around and climb backwards off the couch. Now only if he could apply this logic to the stairs. It will take some time, but I am very proud of him.
