Water fun

This morning we met Josh and his mom at a new park Mason hadn't gone to before. It was hot, but he had so much fun. And after working so hard on the lawn yesterday, Mason has some fun with his new water table. He was soaked after 15 minutes, but loved every minute of it! Well worth the purchase. We also started off with some sidewalk chalk. Check out what Mason (I mean Daddy) wrote!

Who's a big boy now? Mason is! Tonight we removed the baby gate from his room, so now when he's out of the crib he can roam freely.........of course under my watchful eye! He also had his first Dorito today. Who doesn't love Doritos??? This week he also learned where his nose and toes are. He will point to them when we say "where is your nose" or "where are your toes." He still continues to point to all the dogs in the neighborhood and doggie sounds more like "diggie," but we know what he means. :) He's still talking up a storm. Who knows what he'll say next! Stay tuned.

mmmmmm good!

Want a cracker?

So, today Mason said the word "cracker!" He is also getting very good at going down the stairs backwards. He tends to slide down on his belly......whatever works! This week has been filled with new adventures for Mason.

Look at this technique. I'm so proud. :)

My Cutie Pie!

Mason loves putting on his crocs. They are his favorite shoes.
This was too sweet!

So, the other night (Tues.) we went walking around the neighborhood and we passed plenty of people taking strolls with their dogs. When Mason saw a dog he said "doggie" in a high pitch and pointed to them. It was so cute. He got very excited. Later that evening we took a bath (which he still despises) and after we went to watch some TV before bedtime. Well, Mason went down the stairs backwards on his hands and knees with the help of dad, but he learned how to do it! He'll have those stairs mastered by the Fall for sure!

Mother's Day

Rough week

So the past week has been pretty tough on Mason due to teething. Here above he took a very short nap on the couch. He had one of his molars come in and waiting for more. It got worse on Thursday when I got a call from the daycare provider at 4:10pm to say that Mason had a temp of 103.7. Needless to say I was more than freaked out. Ben was already on his way to get him and I met them at the urgent care immediately. The Dr. ran some usual tests like checking for ear infection, flu, and strep, but all came back negative. They concluded that he probably has a virus and continue to give him Motrin or Tylenol. I walked out of there feeling not too happy with no real diagnosis. I for sure thought it would be an ear infection as the fever is a sure sign of that. Well, by the time we got home an hour and a half later his fever went down and he ate dinner and seemed back to normal. We've been watching him over the weekend and he is still feeling bad from his teeth. Although this morning he had a slight rash on his face around the hairline and later his belly and back. Called the nurse and she didn't think it was serious. Probably a side effect of the high fever. Out of the blue yesterday he was laughing on the floor and I saw that his other molar (left side) had come in. Where was I for this? I watch him like a hawk and didn't even see that one coming. So, on top of this so called "virus" and his teething it's been hard for little guy. The fever has remained normal but his crankiness has increased. He is being very finicky with food these days. I know it's the age, but still. His new diet consists of chicken fries, the occasional Ritz cracker, and Motrin. He doesn't even want fruit snacks or bananas anymore. He seems to not like milk very much anymore either and his napping didn't go well this weekend. His best friend these days is the pacifier. Luckily, he still sleeps through the night. I hope he gets a break soon.

Here are some pics throughout last week and this weekend. I caught a few smiles here and there when he was playing with daddy.
